Reading Festival 2009 is the 39th festival of its kind. Throughout the history of the festival a number of great rock bands have been performed in the event like The Mission, Alice Cooper etc. The popularity of the event increased in 1987, when the number of attendees increased for the first time in its history. In the year 1988, artists like Bonnie Tyler and Meat Loaf performed in the event and in 1991 the atmosphere was electrified when Nirvana played. The 1992 Reading Fest was a little different because Kurt Cobain brought Nirvana to their last concert in the UK. Over the next four years, Nirvana performed at the festival and then new bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica and Guns’ N’ Roses came forward to participate in the event. Over the years new bands appeared on stage like the Arctic Monkeys and Rage Against the Machine. The festival of 2008 is considered to be one of the best festivals in the history of the United Kingdom therefore, it is expected that this year the festival will be bigger and better. The Reading Festival Tickets 2009 are available online and it is expected that about 70,000 people will attend the event each day.
